ScrollPause asks for unusual Android permissions, so you should know exactly what each one does before you decide.
Does ScrollPause require an account?
No. There is no account, sign-up, or email capture. Install the app, set it up, and use it.
Where is my scrolling data stored?
Your history, insights, and preferences stay in local storage on your phone. If you explicitly opt in, ScrollPause may send anonymous daily totals that contain no app names, content, or action-by-action history. Read the complete privacy notes.
Why does ScrollPause need Accessibility permission?
Only Full Pause mode uses Android’s Accessibility Service, and only to detect scroll events in real time. ScrollPause does not read the content on screen, capture text, log keystrokes, or perform actions for you. You can use a lighter mode without granting it. See exactly how the permission works.
Is ScrollPause free?
Yes. There are no paid tiers, in-app purchases, subscriptions, or ads.
Is there an iOS version?
Not currently. ScrollPause uses Android-specific Accessibility and Usage Access APIs that do not have direct iOS equivalents.
Will ScrollPause drain my battery?
ScrollPause uses Android background services designed for low power use. Full Pause is event-driven rather than constantly polling, so it works only when relevant activity occurs.
Can I export my data?
Not yet. The current version stores data on your device and does not include an export feature. You can wipe scrolling data from Settings at any time.
Does ScrollPause work without internet?
Yes. Detecting and interrupting scrolling works offline. Discover needs a connection, but the app falls back to a guided breathing exercise when you are offline.
